Kanpur, the commercial capital of Uttar Pradesh got a new Civil Enclave. The Kanpur Airport was inaugurated on 26 May 2023. The new terminal building is built in an area of 6,243 sqm (16 times bigger than the existing terminal) and is equipped to handle 400 passengers during peak hours.
At present, Kanpur Airport is directly connected to Mumbai and Bengaluru.
The terminal has been designed to integrate the culture and heritage of Kanpur, and the state of Uttar Pradesh. Vardhman Airport Solutions is proudly associated with Airports Authority of India & UPRN in providing AGL and High Mast Apron lighting system for the airport. The System is designed as per latest ICAO norm and CAR guidelines. With improved facilities, Kanpur, which is often referred to as ‘the Manchester of Uttar Pradesh,’ is likely to be connected to more cities within the state and other parts of the country.
